UPDATE: Moon needs a new home! Moon returned to GDS last month and is looking for an experienced home. What kind of experience? That you understand she needs to be a dog, not a human, that she needs space to breathe, not picked up, and that she’s left alone whilst feeding. Sadly she’s developed a very negative association with food and this is going to take time to change. We are not looking for someone that wants to force her to change but that just respects her space and lets her figure it out herself. Can you just leave her alone? I’ve had two extreme resource guarders, both old podencos and it took a year of leaving them alone to figure it out and finally they are fine. Moon is just 18mths and we think she’ll figure it out quickly. Moon also got diagnosed with myositis of the lateral extraocular which can be painful but we don’t believe is related to the food issue. That’s been treated and it’s a case of monitoring her symptoms which we can discuss with any potential adopter. Moon isn’t a cute pocket dog, she’s a hunting dog that’s incredibly smart and loving but with a few issues. If you’ve got what it takes contact us to discuss further. Moon needs a home now! — Tina
Baby Moon was saved with her terrified mum Luna when they were rescued from a hoarding situation of 70 podencos. Moon was the only puppy of the litter to survive. We shudder to think of what became of the others. Now with us, Luna and Moon are very happy to be in an environment where they are being cared for and finally safe. We cannot get over Moon’s cuteness and are convinced that she is part-bear. Please reach out for information about Moon.
