Indigo is a shy boy that was rescued from the streets. He was caught in a trap with two others. He was skinny, hungry and afraid. Indigo is 5yrs old and ready for a home. He’s gentle on a lead, loves other dogs and is ready to start building confidence. Could it be with you? — Tina
Do you remember the three rescued recently in the trap together? Well, meet Indigo. He’s an adorable sweet boy around 4yrs old. A bit shy, he’s quiet at the moment but ever so gentle. Look at his lovely long snoot. Such wonderful dogs that didn’t deserve to be on the streets. Let’s find Indigo a home! — Tina
Indigo is one of four galgos found living on the streets—none microchipped, one injured, and one still missing. He is quite shy which is understandable given what he endured. When they arrived to GDS, the dogs were utterly exhausted and very quiet. They have since seen the vet for bloodwork, and the white galgo received X-rays on the injured leg. These are wonderful dogs who never should have suffered this.
Despite claims that this “never happens,” it does. Thanks to the tireless work of Andrés Pete Salar, three were safely trapped and are at GDS. The fourth has been sighted and will hopefully be with us soon. Cases like this expose the reality that many galgos remain unregistered, unaccounted for, and invisible—despite claims of strong microchipping protections. A national registration database is urgently needed to ensure these dogs legally exist and cannot be ignored.
