Cory & Melissa are two older small podencos that came from a terrible hoarding situation. Cory is around 10yrs and Melissa 7yrs (maybe older) and both were extremely unsocialized when they came. Both now enjoy walks, being with people and have come on in leaps and bounds. They are quite bonded and I think it will be hard to separate them. We had to move them from the kennels to the campo area as Cory figured out how to lift the drain cover. Podencos eh! Maybe someone out there is looking for two quiet older podencos? UPDATE: Melisa and Cory arrived to GDS from a hoarding situation and had never been socialized. Already around 10yrs old they haven’t been able to go to a home as you couldn’t touch them. Karin put in some hard work recently to really try and get them to turn a corner and look what happened… These two are ready for a home! Look how adorable they are. It’s a wonderful feeling to see scared dogs come around like this, although we wish they were not scared in the first place.

Grumpy and growly, Cory was saved from a hoarding situation of 70 podencos. No doubt he has plenty of reasons to be terrified. More were taken out but they are not as scared as this group in the video. We hope it won’t be too long for him to relax and understand that he is safe. So sad for him and the other scared three.
