Saeta is a sweet girl that’s not really done well in kennels. She sadly missed a home as she kept having trouble with her paw, there was something in it and it took a few small incisions to finally get it out. That is sorted now. She came in quite confident but has gone backwards a bit so we would love to see her go and get her mojo back for life. Saeta is 4yrs old, nice on a lead but at present a bit of an escape risk. That would soon pass once she felt settled. — Tina

With February 1st looming, Día del Galgo signals the tragic end of hunting season for many hounds. As this date approached, GDS welcomed 26 desperate hounds, rescued in the final days of January, each one in need of urgent care and a second chance at life. These lucky dogs were saved from the streets, abandoned by their galgueros, and rescued from overcrowded perreras. Their journey to safety was no small feat, but every step was worth it. Now, these 26 beautiful souls are ready to find their forever homes.

When Saeta first arrived, she was understandably shy. After all, her world was turned upside down when her galguero handed her over to a perrera, and then we brought her into our care. But we know it won’t be long before she settles into our routine and begins to trust the attention from our dedicated staff and volunteers. We’re hopeful that Saeta will capture the heart of a potential adopter soon—she truly deserves a chance at happiness.
